AMTEC Motors has launched an interest-free credit scheme for new Mazda vehicles. The decision to assist customers with interest free credit was arrived at after many of its customers have been struggling to access vehicle financing from financial institutions due to the current liquidity crunch.
Vehicles are either purchased for cash or financed by banks and Lease Finance Houses through loans, asset financing products or lease hire.
Amtec Motors is aiming to grow its customer base for new vehicles mainly in Harare and other parts of the country. The credit scheme applies to selected Mazda models namely Mazda 3, Mazda CX-7 and Mazda CX-9.
Customers will drive away in brand new vehicles after paying just 40 percent of the total purchase price, with the balance paid over six months.
“There are no other establishment or administration fees levied on customers,” said Amtec. “Other terms and conditions are available from the company sales staff.”
The company said the scheme is valid until the current stocks are exhausted. It also added the response from the market had been encouraging since the announcement on the interest-free credit scheme.
“Applications take a week for approval and those (applications) we have already received are being processed for various models. Customers interested in applying are also urged to visit Amtec Motors branches countrywide,” said Amtec.
In addition, the customer will also benefit from pre-delivery inspection, vehicle registration, Free 1 000 km service inspection, warning triangle and reflective vests, all at Amtec Motors cost.
Speaking at the launch, managing director of Amtec Motors, Mr Lucas Taruvinga, said ‘‘Amtec Motors is excited to offer such a unique credit scheme in Zimbabwe. The scheme is meant to cushion both individual and corporate clients by offering flexible payment terms at a time when the country is facing liquidity challenges’’.
He added that this offer would strengthen relationships between Amtec is Motors and its customers thereby building and strengthening goodwill for the Amtec brand. Besides the interest free credit scheme for Mazda vehicles, other payment options were available for other Mazda models such as the All New Mazda BT50, and for their other vehicle brands, Nissan and Hino models that Amtec Motors holds franchises for.
Amtec Motors has been in operation since 1953.
