A LUSH driveway marked by gigantic Mexican fan palms (Washingtonia robusta) greets you as you enter the CABS head office in Borrowdale.
It is a magnificent complex with landscaping surprises at every corner. Past the entrance gate, you will see a row of the colourful potted bougainvillea lining the centre island of the driveway. In the centre are a variety of large trees that form a beautiful theme for the garden.
Another lining of queen palms (arecastrum romanzoffianum) adds to the glamour of the place as you approach a roundabout that leads to the reception entrance.
Adorning the centre of the roundabout is a fish pond spherically designed with strelitzia nicolai as part of the grouping of plants near the pond. The Ti plant’s reddish foliage is a common feature around the entrance. It adds colour whilst complementing the green foliage of other plants. Neatly trimmed hedges are an excellent surprise in this square with an interesting combination of potted plants. The famous asparagus fern and delicious monster is found at the entrance.

An old relic tree, the Prince of Wales Feathers (brachystegia glauscens), is well-preserved here. It reminds one of the original indigenous vegetation, before the buildings were constructed.
Mass plantings of the colourful crocosmia gives meaning to the garden.
Walking around the property, you cannot miss the presence of yet another pond at the back, and this time, it is filled with a family of ducks, an interesting addition to any garden.
Bird life brings excitement to the garden while a large expanse of lawn leaves you wishing for a picnic.

In the garden, there is evidence of attention to detail and a good combination of colours and style to create an inviting landscape.
