ANDY Muridzo says it will take some time for him to heal after his former manager, Ronald “General” Mujuru, lost his wife and five children in a horror road accident last week.

The Jeetaz Band leader, who was mentored by Mujuru on a voluntary basis, said his former benefactor’s loss was hard to bear.

In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Muridzo said they were doing their best to ensure that Mujuru stays firm and resolute.

“The pain of losing a loved one is hard to bear, and losing an entire family is unimaginable,” Muridzo said.  “We are commiserating with him because he remains one of us. As a family, we tried our best to console him, but you know it’s not easy for a man to lose his loved ones.

“We are doing everything we can to make sure he gets the best care so he can to move forward.”

Muridzo benefited immensely from Mujuru’s leadership.

“Losing fans is never easy, and losing them to death is even worse,” he said.

“General would come to my shows with the entire family and it was a good feeling to have him supporting me.  I feel empty and life will never be the same.”

Muridzo added:

“Mujuru and his family did their best to ensure that my brand grew, and up to now I owe them a lot for what they did for me.

“It’s now very difficult for me to honour them when they are gone. I will simply do my best to ensure that he moves on and heals.”

Muridzo remembered Mujuru’s encouragement after difficult shows and the way the family celebrated small victories with him.

Those memories, he said, are now bittersweet: comforting reminders of happier times but also painful markers of what has been lost.

Friends and colleagues have rallied around Mujuru to provide practical and emotional support.

A staunch Dynamos supporter, the club’s fans have also rallied behind him.

Local artists attended the funeral, and Nyaradzo Holdings covered the overall expenses.

Muridzo said such collective efforts are essential in giving Mujuru the support he needs in the weeks and months ahead.

He also called on the public to respect Mujuru’s privacy as he grieves.

“People mean well when they offer condolences, but constant attention can be overwhelming,” he said.  “Allow him space to mourn and, when you can, show support through deeds rather than words — check on him, help with errands, and be patient as he processes this enormous loss.”

The tragedy has left a profound void in the lives of many but Muridzo and others are determined to stand by Mujuru during this devastating time.

Their efforts to provide emotional, practical, and psychological support aim to help him find a path toward healing, even though the road ahead will be long and difficult.
