ANDY MURIDZO SALUTES BABA SHARO

AFRO-FUSION musician, Andy Muridzo, says Alick Macheso is a living legend who has worked hard for his success.

He said this ahead of the Orchestra Mberikwazvo boss’ 54th birthday celebrations at Chintugwiza Aquatic Complex tonight, where he is billed to perform.

In an interview with H-Metro, Andy Muridzo’s brand manager, Ronald Mujuru, said they were excited about this opportunity.

“He (Andy) is extremely excited and he feels honourned to be performing at the album launch.

“Alick is a legend in the industry, these are the legends that we used to look up to when it comes to music,” he said.

Mujuru said the Jeetaz Band boss has also learnt a lot from Macheso and looks up to him all the time. “He has learnt that there are no shortcuts to success.

“Alick Macheso has come a long way and he has worked extremely hard to be where he is today.

“More importantly, Andy has learnt, through Alick’s music, that music brings people together and people are the same.

“No matter what language people speak, what colour people are or their political affiliation, Alick’s music has united people and proven beyond doubt that people are just the same,” he told H-Metro. According to Mujuru, there might be a collaboration coming from the two.

“Who wouldn’t want to do a collabo with a legend?

“Plans are at an advanced stage for a collaboration with Baba Sharo and fans should expect something from the two,” he said.
