CONTEMPORARY musicians Andy Muridzo, Texas Tekenya, Singue Simboti and Nerwande Mbira have been unveiled as the performing acts for the Dandaro naGogo Chihoro Festival, which will be held tonight.
The festival, is a follow up on the Umgido Wesintu festival held in May in Bulawayo as part of the 2026 Culture Month celebrations.
Scores of people are expected for what is meant to be a vibrant showcase of Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage and diversity, with traditional healers and cultural enthusiasts from Harare and surrounding areas expected to attend.
Renowned traditional healer and spiritual leader Gogo Chihoro will lead the cultural dance gathering.
She said attendees would leave the event transformed.
“Dandaro is a gathering, more like umgido, where people get to gather and share traditional stories, learn and also get to know about our culture, traditions and herbs.
“Attendees can expect to eat, drink our traditional beers, namely seven days, dance and celebrate. Those with sickness or problems will also get help as well,” said Gogo Chihoro.
