ANDY Muridzo’s custody battle with estranged wife Chido “Mai Keketso” Manyange raged on yesterday with the musician getting custody of one of their two minor children.
He is accusing Chido of being an irresponsible mother.
The two appeared before magistrate Nyasha Marufu at the Harare Civil Court where the application was postponed to November 10.
Through his lawyer, Andy submitted that the shared custody was by consent.
“The two have agreed that Andy will have custody of one child and have access to the other during holidays.
“They have agreed that they can alternate custody but each will have full custody of one child.
“Andy has also been allowed to have access to the other child during the first week of the holidays,” said the lawyer.
Magistrate Nyasha Marufu questioned why the two were agreeing to separate the children.
“The older child will be enrolling at a boarding school and the younger one would still be home alone.
“We have agreed that he will take custody of the older one while I keep the young one, he will have custody during weekends on holidays,” said Mai Keketso.
The hearing will continue on November 10.
