IT started off with an appreciation poem after his National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) exploits and now Ankela Zex Mdawini has gone back to authorship.
This comes after a prologue and a chapter a day series began this week for Ankela Zex whose virtual book will be an exposé of “some of the unfair traditional practices that have become obsolete, yet continued to be practised in our society.”
Ankela Zex’s book, “On the other side of tradition” will be circulated on social media, especially WhatsApp and Facebook.
The comedian said that the manuscript will be a revival of his authorship as he has written quite a number of adult-themed books since 2016.
“This book will expose some of the African traditions that have become outdated and senseless in this generation. I will expose them one by one in each chapter,” he said.
When quizzed to name the “outdated and senseless” traditions, Ankela Zex was coy, but if his prologue is anything to go by, then, diverse family dynamics will be on full exhibit.
Ankela Zex noted with concern how his prior “erotic” manuscripts may come back to haunt him in his quest to turn a new leaf as a public figure.
“My erotic literary works were and are still popular and on-demand, but I cannot continue on that path since I’m now a public figure and writing family-friendly material.
However, I know that it will surface up to be controversial. You know what happens when you become a public figure. I know someone somewhere will download the erotic stuff and cause chaos,” he said. – @eMKlass_49
