Another defeat for Nakamba’s Luton

ZIMBABWE international midfielder Marvelous Nakamba extended his stay atop the English Premier League tackles’ chart after adding five during Saturday’s 0-1 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

The five tackles moved Nakamba to 36 for the season, eight more than the second placed and Portugal international, Joao Palhinha of Fulham.

Luton missed a number of chances in the defeat, their second successive at home after losing 1-2 against Burnley in a re-arranged match last Tuesday.

They have had a run of three defeats, a draw and only win in their last five matches.  Luton sit just above the relegation zone with four points from eight matches, tied with Burnley who however have an inferior goal difference.

All three teams below Luton lost on Saturday with Burnley at home to Chelsea (1-4), Bournemouth away to Everton (0-3) and Sheffield United at Fulham (1-3).

For his five tackles among other contributions, Nakamba was given a rating of 7.5 out of 10 by the Daily Mail. This was the joint BEST for Luton, tied with winger, Chiedozie Ogbene.
