A Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital medical officer was on Wednesday hit by a dislodged wheel from a moving haulage truck and died on the spot.
Dr Tinotenda Madzima was walking along the road when he met his fate.
He was 30.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the wheel dislodged from a moving Scania haulage truck.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police reports a fatal road traffic accident involving a government medical officer, which occurred on January 3 at about 7am at the 116 kilometre peg along Harare-Chirundu Road.
“The doctor was walking along the road when he was hit on the back by a wheel which had dislodged from a Scania haulage truck travelling towards Harare.
“The victim died on the spot,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
