AFTER playing the Mbada Diamonds Cup quarter-final matches this weekend, it will be another hectic programme for the Castle Lager Premiership as the clubs race against time to complete their fixtures on schedule. The smooth flow of the league was disrupted on a number of occasions by the national teams’ commitments while the programme also goes on a forced breaks for the Cup matches.
According to their initial plan, the Mbada Diamonds Cup final should be last match of the season, at the end of next month.
As the Premiership enters the home stretch, there are still seven rounds of matches to play and the league bosses have once again fixtured mid-week games to contain the programme.
The first mid-week tie next week will see Monomotapa hosting Triangle at Gwanzura with both teams desperate for points as they are not safe from relegation.
Seven matches have been lined up for Wednesday with pacesetters Dynamos travelling to FC Platinum for a cagey assignment.
Dynamos have a slender one-point lead at the top of the log while FC Platinum could play catch-up with the champions if they win at Mandava.
The match pits Dynamos coaches Lloyd Mutasa and Masimba Dinyero, now at FC Platinum, against their ally Callisto Pasuwa.
Highlanders face Tripple B at Barbourfields.
CAPS United will take on plucky Chicken Inn.
