Another road test for students

HERENTALS coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva says starting their Castle Lager Premiership campaign, with two games on the road, requires mental strength among his players.

The Students went on a tough boot camp to prepare for the new season.

Mutiwekuziva believes his boys have dusted themselves up, ahead of their game against newly-promoted Green Fuel, this weekend.

The Students are coming from a 0-1 loss to Triangle in their first game of the season. And, they will be away again this weekend for their second game of the season.

“The team is fine despite the negative result we gained in the first game,” he said.

“We are working hard to transform ourselves and ensure we play better than what we did in the previous encounter, which is now water under the bridge. We have to be strong mentally, playing two away games, and this is what we are working on.

“The first game’s major negative issue was us conceding from a set play.

“We just working on our concentration levels during such key moments in a game.”

Herentals are going back to Gibbo, where they played their first game, as Green Fuel awaits the completion of renovations at their stadium in Chisumbanje. Mutiwekuziva says he has a full squad.

“We have no injury worries. Everyone is good to go and is ready to deliver,” he said.

Lloyd Mutasa’s Green Fuel are also coming from a 0-1 loss to Yadah at the National Sports Stadium on Monday.
