adminKINGSTON. — Anthony B was scheduled to launch his latest album, “Tribute to Legends”, at Club Revolution in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the weekend.
On it, the singjay pays homage to pop and reggae greats by covering classic songs such as “Suspicious Minds” (Elvis Presley) and “Stepping Razor” (Peter Tosh). The album has productions from Anthony B’s Born Fire Music, Jyorken Kennedy of Masterone Productions and Train Line Records.
According to Anthony B, the time is right to honour some of the artistes who inspired him.
“I chose to make a tribute album to first show how much these legends influence my music and my life. I think a lot of our young people need to know where we are coming from musically and to help them be better in the future,” he said.
Other songs he covers on “Legends” are “Toots and the Maytals”, “Pomps and Pride” and John Lennon’s “Imagine”. — Jamaica Observer.
