Antipas wants aggressive Bulls

after they failed to go past the first round in the African Champions League.
With an advantage of playing a one-off tie at home against crack Ivorian side Asec Mimosa to their side, the Might Bulls were sent crashing out of the premier African club competition after losing at Rufaro.
The 2010 Zimbabwe league champions puffed and groaned past Malagasy side Cnap Sports in the preliminary round.
Now Motor Action are back in the African safari where they are set to play modest South African side Black Leopards in the Confederation Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium next week.
“We should play with confidence so that we reach the first round,” said Antipas.
“In the African safari, there is need to play aggressively. The game against Asec was a one off which put us under a whole lot of pressure.
“First of all we should try to get through to the first round this time.”
Yesterday, the Mighty Bulls stepped up their preparations by engaging league champions Dynamos in a practice match at Motor Action Sports Club. Antipas was pleased with the session but said there was room for improvement.
“The fitness levels have improved with each practice game but we are not yet 100 percent.
“Combinations are coming up but we need to work on creativity and finishing but otherwise we have improved,” he said.
He said the new recruits – Protasho Kabwe, Alves Ebabali, Isaac Madziva, Misheck Mburayi, Fortune Ncube, James Jam, Charles Mutero and Ngoni Maviri – have gelled well into the Mighty Bulls squad. The side retained the services of the skipper Marlon Jani, Edward Tembo, Enasio Peresu, Thembani Masuku and Gift Phiri.
The Mighty Bulls boss said he would have wanted to play an international friendly but the funds were not available for such an adventure.
“Ideally we should have played an international friendly but the funds could not permit us. Now we have to do with what we have.
“However, we are happy to have picked up some tips from CAPS United. We do not know much about Black Leopards but it was helpful to get something from CAPS,” said Antipas.
CAPS United beat Black Leopards 1-0 during a four-team tournament at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane two weeks ago.
“Obviously Black Leopards have Sunday (Chidzambwa) who knows our type of game and will probably advise them,” said Antipas.
Motor Action, who were the runners-up in the Mbada Diamonds Cup, are set to leave for South Africa on Thursday ahead of the game on February 18.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe international Kingstone Nkhata, who plays for Black Leopards, has warned his teammates not to underrate Motor Action.
