Mufakose bred “prince of praise and worship”, Apostle Paul Sambo, has urged the nation to trust in God in these trying times of Covid-19.
Apostle Sambo, who is a praise and worship singer, urged both believers and non-believers to be firm and resolute all the times.
The affable chorister opened up to The Herald Arts ahead of the launch of his third album titled “Anogadzira Nzira” at the Anglican Cathedral Hall in Harare.
It carries nine tracks namely “Jehovha Mufudzi”, “Mutsvene-Mutsvene”, “Mwari Mubatsiri”, the title track Anogadzira Nziram, which he features Bethen Pasinawako.
He also featured South Africa based Zimbabwean gospel singer Dr MacMillan on two songs — “Getsimani” and “Ndivhureiwo Meso”.
A fan of Marimba Edenga, Apostle Sambo also featured the group on two songs — “Baba Vedu Makazviita” and “Hapana Chandinotya”.
Message wise, Apostle Sambo said people needed to have faith in God.
“We always preach about the goodness of the Lord and as the title suggests, it’s only God who can pave a way for us,” he said. “It is only God who can make our lives better since he has all the solutions and answers to our challenges.
“Like any other artistes who gets well along with others, I will be supported by Bethen Pasinawako, Nicholas Chirunga, Marimba Edenga and Dr MacMillan at this event.
“I’m really excited to be unveiling this album after all the challenges I faced to record it during lockdown.”
Besides this album, Apostle Sambo — who doubles as an IT specialist — has also recorded some albums.
He announced his arrival on the music landscape in the year 2012 with the album “Praise God”.
Last year, he recorded the album “Praise God Remix”, which did very well on the market.
His discography is also laden with such singles as “Musandipfuure Jesu”, “I Praise God”, “Zano” and “Jesu Arikudaidza”.
Tomorrow, Apostle Sambo will be ushering fans into the festive season with the new album “Anogadzira Nzira” as he praises the Lord for paving the way in difficult situations.
“We keep on trusting in the Lord and we won’t stop,” he said.
