A WOMAN, who sought a protection order against her husband, accusing him of destroying her property each time he is drunk, has had her application dismissed.

Pamhidzai Zvaranyika said she had been married to Gift Munyaradzi for 11 years and has never known peace since their union.

“On the 23rd of July this year, he came home drunk, insulted me and damaged the television set and cellphone I recently bought,” said Pamhidzai.

“This is not the first time I have come to court.

“I once reported him to Mbare Police Station in 2016.

“Last year, I filed a report and the matter was heard at the Harare Magistrates’ Court,” she said.

In response, Gift denied the allegations, saying his wife does not respect him as the head of the house.

“She sold the room divider and generator. We both worked very hard to acquire these things.

“She is way older than me and that is the reason she thinks she can control me.

“If it is separation that she wants, I will gladly accept,” he said.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingura dismissed the application.
