The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) delegation, led by National Governance Council chairman Ambassador James Manzou and APRM director of country review, Dr Rachel Mukamunana, is touring Chinhoyi University of Technology Industrial Park.
It is part of field visits across the country under the Zimbabwe Targeted Review Field Mission on Economic Governance and Management.
The delegation paid a courtesy call on Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Marian Chombo, who briefed them on the country’s evolving governance and development system.
Ambassador Manzou said APRM seeks to review economic governance and management using African-formulated and implemented systems.
“This stage of the review allows for broader involvement of stakeholders, starting from the grassroots,” he said.

Reviews, he said, were not new to Zimbabwe as the country underwent the same process with the International Monetary Fund delegation last week.
The delegation toured the CUT Industrial Park, where full value-chain production of animal feed and dairy products is ongoing on an industrial scale.
Among other products, the park is manufacturing nutrition blocks, milling feed and producing dairy products such as yoghurt and sour milk.
The park also undertakes pen fattening, which can see animals adding about 100kgs in 90 days.
Dr Mukamunana said Zimbabwe should expect receiving more delegations from African countries wanting to learn about resilience.
Zimbabwe, she said, had shown great resilience in the face of difficulties such as sanctions and drought.
“Most of the time, international bodies assessing and reviewing our systems do not understand our conditions and circumstances,” said Dr Mukamunana.
Zimbabwe joined the APRM on February 8, 2020 and expressed readiness to have its governance and economic management systems scrutinised.
The delegation has been in the country since November 3 and will undertake field visits and consultations until November 18, 2025.
The APRM is an organ of the African union (AU) responsible for improving governance in member states.
