2pm with the hosts Arcadia Legends, a football team made up of veterans like Charlie Jones, Henry McKop, Carlos Max, Jason Muller, George Rollo and Hamid Dhana playing Mafero Mafero. The Zimpapers team will be among the curtain-raisers.
As the games begin on the pitch there will be fun games for children including jumping castles, braai and several hip-hop dance groups to entertain the crowd.
The monthly fun day extravaganza is being organised by Arcadia Sports Club in conjunction with Huggies Entertainment made up of veteran Power FM DJs Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza, Witness “Chuman” Matema, Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza and Webber Brandy.
According to D-Train, the gig is a first of its kind this year as Huggies Entertainment embarks on charity work to assist different communities.
“They say charity begins at home and since Mr Kool and myself live in Arcadia we saw it fit to help fund-raise for Arcadia Sports Club which has provided a lot of recreation for the community.
“On Saturday it will be a day to interact at social level with families. This is why we have lots of games and competition and thereafter we close with an after party featuring some of our best DJs including SWA and Luwa who are from Arcadia. These are the guys we are going to be working with us for our monthly gigs,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of Arcadia Sports Club, former football star Max, said the planned gig would go a long way in assisting the club to renovate some of its furniture and grounds.
Max said he was happy with the support of the Arcadia community in organising a family fun day for a worthy cause.
