BULAWAYO Darts League champions Archers and runners-up Railstars will represent the province in the Champion of Champions tournament to be held at Zesa Munyati, Kwekwe on February 2.
A total of 16 teams from National Darts Association of Zimbabwe (Ndaz) active leagues are expected to battle for top honours, each province sending two representatives. Bulawayo Province Darts Association organising secretary, Lethukuthula Nkomo confirmed that Archers and Railstars will take part in the tournament.

“Archers and Railstars have submitted their list of players that will participate in the tournament,” said Nkomo.
He said they have faith in the Bulawayo Province representatives, as Archers finished the season unbeaten while Railstars came third in the last edition of the tournament. “Both teams have strong squads. I believe they can excel in that tournament because they both had a good season last year while Railstars came third in the last edition of this tournament,” he said.

According to Ndaz’s national secretary Stephen Mwarindira, only players that played for their teams in the 2013 darts season are eligible to participate in the tournament.

Winners of the tournament will walk away with $500 plus a trophy while losing finalists will get $400.  Semi-finalists will get $300 while $250 has been set aside for those teams that will be knocked out in the second round.  First round losers will get $200 each.

The tournament will be played in the best of 39 format.
