Popular entertainment joint, Archipelago which had been closed for some time, is set to be officially reopened at 2pm today albeit under a new name; Archies Night Club.
The joint which had been closed for almost a year and going through serious renovations will now be under new management. As part of their initiative the joint will be opening its doors at times as early as 2pm for afternoon sessions. Archipelago was one of the most popular joints in the capital some years ago with many patrons simply calling it ‘‘Achies’’, a name it has now assumed.
The man leading the new team, Biggie Chinoperekwei said the official opening will see some of the top DJs entertaining revellers while the new management is set to work tirelessly to make it the place to be.
“Some of the country’s top DJs will be there to give the crowds entertainment and prepare them for the weekend partying and these include the likes of DJ Squilla, Ash Styles and Nivek, Templeman, Garry B, Yung Fresh and Big Dollar among others.
“We have managed to bring back afternoon sessions which will be on every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Basically it will be the place to be,” he said.
The popular joint which is located along Nelson Mandela Avenue has had set itself as one of the city’s most entertainment spots with its hosting of the country’s top DJs being just a tip of the iceberg. The new management said one of its top priorities is not only to revive the former glory of the spot but actually to surpass it as they have lined up a number of activities to keep old and new patrons entertained.
“As a new team we do not intend to retain old patrons only but also attract new ones so that we have and will keep bringing surprises to our clients. Already we have lined up a number of activities which will see our clients entertained while they enjoy their time at the joint.”
