IT’S all happening in the Arenel Nash Under-17 football tournament where the biscuit manufacturers have also mixed the game and a “Sell more and Win Big’’ promotion.

Arenel unveiled a US$152 000 sponsorship package for the Nash Under-17 tournament early this year and they have also come up with the Sell more and Win Big promotion that will see schools that buy more of their products winnings various prizes.

Schools are winning various prizes including computers and last month Kwekwe High from Midlands received five laptops and a printer when they came first in the May promotion.

Highfield High 1 came second and they got three laptops and a printer while the third prize of two laptops and a printer went to St Faith from Rusape.

Arenel marketing manager, Tendai Taruvinga said the promotion is meant to promote their new biscuit product.

“We are currently launching a new biscuit called Yummy. This biscuit is the only biscuit of its kind, it’s ice cream coated or ice cream flavoured. To market it we thought we should incentivise the schools because it’s a biscuit to do more with the children, it’s a mini biscuit.

“So we thought to have a promotion for the schools running concurrently with the tournament,” said Taruvinga.

The second draw will coincide with the national finals for the tournament on August 2.

Taruvinga said the competition was initially supposed to run for three months but they are now considering to extend because of the response they have been getting.

The Arenel Nash football tournament started at the zonals before going to the districts.

It reached the provincial finals last month with Harare and Bulawayo hosting their finals.

Marlborough High School won the ticket from the capital and Mzilikazi emerged triumphant in Bulawayo. The rest of the provinces will have their finals tomorrow.

The national finals will be held at Prince Edward from July 31 to August 2, in a festival that will parade some of the finest emerging football talent in the country.

Marlborough, Mzilikazi, hosts Prince Edward and defending champions Mavhuradonha will be inactive this weekend while others plunge into the battle to join them in the grand finale.

Mavhuradonha and Prince Edward qualify by the virtue of being the defending champions and hosts respectively.

Marlborough High School edged Lord Malvern 7-6 on penalties in a tight Harare derby showdown.

Mzilikazi defeated Entumbane High School 2-0 to win the ticket from Bulawayo province to play in the national finals.

Prince Edward qualify as hosts of the national finals while Mavhuradonha are the defending champions and were given an automatic ticket into the final showdown.
