Armed man arrested for stealing ore, pointing gun at witnesses

H-Metro Reporter
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have arrested Tonderai Bosha on charges of trespassing, and stealing mine dumps and gold ore from a local mine in Goromonzi.
During the incident, Bosha reportedly produced a firearm before pointing at eyewitnesses after being confronted.

The case is currently being investigated under RRB 6023990 at Murewa Police Station.

Eye witnesses confirmed Bosha was in the company of a colleague when the incident occurred.

The two men were reportedly instructing workers to load mine dump and gold ore into two tipper trucks.

“When we confronted Tonderai and asked what they were doing and who had given them instructions, he ignored us and kept telling his workers to continue loading the ore.

“We kept insisting, but then he started threatening me and the other security officers,” said the witness.

The eyewitness described a frightening escalation.

“He shouted at me, ‘young man, I will kill you.

“Don’t play with me I can do whatever I want now.

“After that, he went back to his car, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at me.”

The situation was diffused only after a quick response from the ZRP.

“We were lucky the police arrived swiftly after we called them, reporting intruders stealing from the mine,” the eyewitness added.

This incident is not Bosha’s first run-in with the law.

In 2020, Bosha was once arrested in Mudzi after leading a suspected armed robbery at Trade Invest Africa Mine.

In that incident, shots were fired, and the robbers made off with six bags of gold ore.
