Armed robber poses as parent, steals $22 800 from college owner

AN armed robber pretending to be a parent seeking a Form One place for his child allegedly attacked a college owner and stole US$22 800.

In a statement, police said the robbery occurred on 5 January 2024 in Mucheke D, Masvingo.

The suspect also stole two cellphones and two laptops.

“The ZRP is investigating a robbery case which occurred in Mucheke D, Masvingo, on 05/01/24, where an unknown suspect, who purported to be looking for a place for a form 1 student at a certain college, went to the college owner’s place while armed with an unidentified pistol.”

“He attacked the victim and stole US$22 800, two cellphones, and two laptops,” reads the statement.
