Armed robbers raid Hillside family

FIVE armed robbers broke into a house in Hillside suburb in Bulawayo where they assaulted the occupants before getting away with cellphones worth more than $800.

National police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said a manhunt for the five has since been launched.

She said the unidentified robbers were armed with a pistol and knives during the raid last Wednesday at around 2AM.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of armed robbery which occurred in Hillside Bulawayo on May 25. On the said date at about 2AM, five robbers, who were armed with a pistol and knives, attacked five complainants at their residence and stole cellphones worth $880,” said Snr Asst Comm Charamba as she appealed to members of the public who might have information that may lead to the arrest of the criminals to come forward.

“Anyone with information which may lead to the arrest of the culprits can contact their nearest police station or call the national complaints desk on 04-703631,”she said.
