ARMED robbers allegedly stormed a home in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo, and robbed three people of cash and valuables after forcing one of the occupants into the house at gunpoint.
The incident occurred on August 21 at around 9.45pm.
A 56-year-old woman was at her home with two men when one of the men went outside to check on his Honda Fit, which was parked in the yard.
He was confronted by two unidentified men armed with two pistols, a knife and a big torch.
The suspects grabbed the man by his belt and force-marched him back into the house, where they ordered all three occupants to lie down.
They threatened to shoot anyone who resisted before ransacking the house in search of cash.
One of the suspects forced the woman into her bedroom, which they searched before she led him to the kitchen, where she handed over R13 100 and US$20.
The suspects also took cellphones belonging to the two men and a sound bar speaker before fleeing.
A police report was subsequently made.
Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident and appealed to members of the public with information to come forward.
“We appeal to members of the public with information that may lead to the arrest of the accused persons to come forward and report at any nearest police station,” she said.
Police said the total value of the stolen property was ZAR13 100 and US$130.
Nothing was recovered.
