Army officers urged to tap from past wars

lessons from past wars where armoured and mechanised troops were used to improve performance.
Lt Gen Sibanda said this while officially opening the ongoing ZNA study seminar in Harare yesterday. He said army officers should learn from the experience they got in Mozambique and DRC to prepare for the future.

“It is important that we thoroughly study the concepts of armoured and mechanised warfare to improve performance of our troops,” said Lt Gen Sibanda.

“It is my hope that the seminar will address our weaknesses and in the process reinforce our strengths to improve our capabilities. We should revisit our archives, open up all the doors of experience and wisdom and in the process share the combat history we have as an army.”

Lt Gen Sibanda urged the ZNA members to put the knowledge they had acquired from their experiences into practice and share with their subordinates.
