to pay on time. NBSZ public affairs manager Ms Ester Massundah said her organisation was owed US$$1 031 670 by public health institutions as at April 30 and an additional US$243 276 by private institutions.
“Most private health institutions have managed to get their accounts to acceptable levels and have had their credit facilities reinstated. A few Government hospitals have had their credit facilities reinstated and they are currently pre-paying for their services,” Ms Massundah said.

NBSZ supplies blood and blood products to 46 Government hospitals, 14 mission hospitals and 35 private hospitals across the country.
Ms Massundah said they were only selling blood to patients referred by the hospital and with a written request for blood. She said almost all institutions in the country owed NBSZ money for blood or blood products but the amounts had gone down compared to what they owed at the beginning of the year.
