Arsenal target Draxler ‘not going anywhere’

Julian Draxler’s hopes of sealing a move to Arsenal this summer remain slim after Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs insisted he will ‘100 percent’ stay at the club.

As reported by Sportsmail this week, the Bundesliga club expect 22-year-old Draxler to push for a move and Arsenal remain keen on sealing his signature.

But Allofs has insisted the Germany international, who is valued at £50 million by his club, will not be leaving the Volkswagen Arena in this transfer window.

“The situation with Draxler is 100 percent certain that he’ll be staying at Wolfsburg,’ Allofs told Sport1. “There’s no discussing that.”

Draxler scored nine goals in 35 appearances during his first season at Wolfsburg and helped his side defeat Manchester United in last season’s Champions League group stage.

He was also included in Germany’s Euro 2016 squad and made five appearances as they exited the tournament in the semi-finals after losing to   France.

Draxler scored one goal at the Euros, in the last-16 victory over Slovakia, and was particularly impressive in that 3-0 win. — Sportsmail.
