adminLONDON. — Arsene Wenger has admitted he doesn’t know whether he will remain as Arsenal manager beyond the end of the season. The Frenchman is out of contract at the Emirates next summer and has refused to be drawn on whether he will extend his stay. Wenger moved to Arsenal in 1996 and won three league titles and three FA Cups in his first eight years in charge.However, he has come under increasing criticism from some sections of the Gunners’ supporters in more recent years following a nine-year trophy drought between 2005 and 2014.
Arsenal have not won the English Premier League title since 2004, despite being the only club to qualify for the Champions League in every season since.
When asked whether this would be his last season in charge, Wenger told Sky Sports: “You never know. In your job, It’s a love story. You want it to you last your whole life but you know that it can stop at any moment.
“You are asked this question more when you get older!”
Speaking to BBC5Live, he added: “My contact runs through to the end of the season, what happens depends on how the season goes.”
Wenger has been frustrated in his attempts to sign a new defender and striker and goes into the weekend with just one fit centre-half. — The Mirror.
