ART appoints acting CEO

Listed conglomerate ART Corporation has appointed Mr Milton Macheka as its acting group chief executive officer.

This comes on the back of the resignation of Mr Murad Ameer from the post.

ART said the former CEO resigned from the group to “pursue other interests”. His resignation was with effect from March 1, 2017.

The new acting CEO is the managing director of the group’s batteries division.

“He has wide manufacturing and marketing experience drawn from over 20 years in chemicals, glass and plastic industries both within Zimbabwe and the southern Africa region,” said ART.

Mr Macheka holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Business Leadership degree from the University of South Africa.

ART is the parent company of the country’s sole battery maker Chloride, Kadoma Paper Mills and Softex. — BH24.
