Art camp for schoolchildren

NGZ executive director Doreen Sibanda said the art camp was a place where children come to play and learn at the same time.
“It is that time when our children come to play during this exciting art camp and will create work based on various activities. For example, drawing from ongoing exhibitions and touring the gallery.

“They will be asked to exercise their imagination and create their original works using various mediums,” said Sibanda. However, throughout the camp, emphasis will be on skills and artistic creativity.

“Your children will learn to express themselves using a wide range of techniques, including painting, drawing, batik making and collage,” she said.
The programme will conclude a mini-exhibition for family and friends. The art camp takes centre stage annually at the gallery during the April and August holidays. La Rue (Pvt) Ltd is a stationery company that was incorporated in 1996 and started trading in 1998.

As the world of art evolved, there was an immediate need for First World art supplies that positively influenced Zimbabwe’s young artists. It became one of a handful of local companies importing a wide variety of art materials.

Registration is US$30 and forms can be collected at the gallery.
