Margarete Leontakianakos
I RAN a shop in Fairbridge Park (Leon’s Fresh fruit and veggies) seven years ago and one day I could not put on my pullover because of pain on my shoulder and between my fingers.
I had to ask my husband to help me dress up and then I went to see the doctor, who wanted to give me an injection.
I said, “ . . . then what?” and she said she had to inject me because the pain would come back.
I refused to be injected and instead went home where I opened up my doctor book which guided me through my four children and there it said . . . Arthritis is caused by an accumulation of crystals in the joints, hence the pains.
The book said: “Avoid salt, red meat, alcohol and nicotine.”
The book was written over 50 years ago. I loved salt, so I immediately cut down putting so much on my food, avoided red meat (not altogether), (I don’t drink alcohol, maybe the odd glass of wine, not more) and nicotine.
So I then got myself two bottles of citrovessent and had a tablet everyday with water to flush me out. I used the bottles for over two months. After three months, I suddenly could move my fingers. After six months, my son invited two medical students from England to stay with us. They said this is what they do in England. They then advised me to change my diet, adding that some people could walk again after having been confined to wheelchairs.
After six months, my pain was almost gone and after nine months there were no more pains and I stopped using the tablets.
One day, a lady limped into the shop and I asked her what the problem was and she told me she had arthritis. I told her what had cured my arthritis and she immediately went to the chemist and brought back an invoice for the citrovessent. She took my advice.
After three months, she walked straight into the shop and told me that her pain was gone, thanks to the Lord who had sent her to Mrs Leon. Now when I meet her in town, she tells people how the Lord made her okay by sending me to her.
Another lady also had pains in the knees and was under Cortisone injections. She told me she used a lot of salt and again she came back and told me she stopped the Cortisone after one week already.
Another man from Nyanga also said he had lots of pain in his fingers. When he took my advice he came back after two months with no more pain.
About six months ago, a lady could hardly move her fingers, so one of the people at my place told her about my case. She got the tablets, which sizzle up in water and after a while she could now move her fingers. She works in Murambinda.
I have read a lot about arthritis, but not one book explained that the crystals in the joints are causing the pain. Surely doctors should know about it.
