DENDERA King Sulumani Chimbetu will lead other artistes at a gala to raise money for Mollen Nyamhotsi who is supposed to undergo a kidney transplant.
The gala to be held at Masvingo Caravan Park tomorrow promises to be a thriller.
The target for the fundraising gala dubbed “Wezhira Ndionewo-Your dollar can save life” is to raise $25,000 for Nyamhotsi who is supposed to undergo a kidney transplant in India.
Nyamhotsi is at the moment attending dialysis sessions at Makurira Clinic in Masvingo twice a week. This has severely drained her resources as she is has to pay $1,800 for the process every month. Nyamhotsi is a house wife with one son.
Tendai Makoni, the sister to Nyamhotsi has offered to donate a kidney after preliminary tests proved that they match.
Sulu will be joined by gospel artiste Mathias Mhere, Sungura musician, Somandla Ndebele and Sebastian Magacha.
Nyamhotsi has been suffering from kidneys since the age of 14 and was a second-year student at Masvingo Teachers College but was forced to drop out mid this year because of the illness.
The estimated cost for the process is $25,000. Of that $15,000 is for the transplant and other hospital expenses.
They need an additional $10,000 for airfares and hotel accommodation.
The organiser and sponsor of the event, Chivi Rural District Council chairman Councillor Killer Zivhu, said he had since raised the airfare for Nyamhotsi.
