NATIONAL Arts Council of Zimbabwe (Nacz) has appointed Cathrine Mthombeni as the council’s Communications and Marketing Officer.
The acting director of Nacz, Nicholas Moyo said Mthombeni was now the spokesperson for the organisation and she will be interfacing with the media and other stakeholders.
“She is responsible for marketing Nacz programmes to targeted stakeholders as well as package and coordinate programme information for all stakeholders within the arts and culture sector,” he said.

Mthombeni joined Nacz in 2009 as the Programmes Officer for Midlands Province where she planned, coordinated and implemented arts and culture programmes. She has also worked as the Marketing Officer for G&D Shoes in Belmont in Bulawayo. She holds a degree in Media and Society Studies from Midlands State University.

Mthombeni did her internship at Sunday News in Bulawayo in 2006 and in 2007 she scooped the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama) for Print Media. She also won National Journalistic Arts Merit Award (NJAMA) in the Arts and Entertainment category.

“The Council is delighted to welcoming Miss Mthombeni to her new portfolio and look forward to benefiting from her experience in handling media and marketing related issues,”  said Moyo.
