BULAWAYO poster boy Asaph has partnered with UmaIceCream for a new ice-cream flavour called, “Mambo by Asaph”.

The Thebelele singer must be living his best life yet as, almost three-weeks ago, he launched his The Big Mhofu EP and got to use the Ster-Kinekor Cinema as a launchpad when American superhero film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever premiered last Friday.

Together with UmaIceCream, a Bulawayo-based start-up company that makes gourmet ice cream, Asaph has struck corporate gold.

In a statement, Siphathokuhle Nozithelo Ncube and her friend Michelle Thanya Moyo, UmaIceCream owners introduced the new flavour.

“Introducing our all new limited edition Mambo by Asaph ice cream. Trickling with strawberry deliciousness, laced with a hint of chocolate and topped up with a smooth layer of whipped cream. It doesn’t get more ROYAL than this!” read the statement.

The Mambo by Asaph flavoured ice-cream will be available in 300 and 500ml containers and lovers of ice-cream in Bulawayo will get a chance to sample in a six-week social media challenge.

Asaph explained how the challenge will work and encouraged members of the public to support UmaIceCream.

“We are giving out a few samples and one just has to record a video describing what Mambo means to them and then tag both UmaIceCream and I and a selected few will benefit,” he said.

Mambo by Asaph joins other vernacular-themed flavours that UmaIceCream offers and these include Umchilo wamakhosikazi, Lozikeyi, UMaDlodlo, uMaMthembo and Ibhubesi.

Asaph’s engagement with the corporate world continues as he is part of Chicken Inn’s Photo Collage Challenge where winners will walk away with ring lights, branded items and free meal vouchers.
