BULAWAYO rapper Asaph is basking in glory as his fortunes keep getting better. He has been nominated for the inaugural Zimbabwe Achievers Award (ZAA) gong.
On Tuesday, ZAA announced nominees for its ZAA UK 11th Edition and Asaph says he feels honoured following his nomination.
“I feel honoured to be nominated at the 11th edition of the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards for Zim-Based Influencer of the Year and feel like 2022 is surely God-sent. I strongly believe that this is my year to reach new and greater heights.
My career is on a new level and I believe a lot more is in store for me,” said Asaph.
The rapper will battle it out with Mgcini Moyo, Official Becky, Shacky Timburwa, Miss V Candy and Ishmael Tsakatsa.
Asaph’s success began last year when he signed a mega record deal with Def Jam Recordings Africa which is under Universal Music Group and became the first Zimbabwean artiste to do so. Since then, he has not looked back.
Earlier this month, the Vibe is correct singer released his first track under Def Jam titled Thebelele and the song features South African rapper Loki.
Asaph was added to the line-up of singers that will perform at the upcoming Vic Falls Carnival (VFC) to be held at the end of the month.
Voting for the Express Links Money Transfers-sponsored event began on 18 April 2022 on ZAA website and will close on 14 May 2022. The 11th ZAA UK Awards Dinner Gala will be at the Holiday Inn City Birmingham Centre on 28 May 2022.
