The company, based in the City of Kings and Queens, recently bought two sets of playing kits for Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newboys Bulawayo City. One of the sets was unveiled on Wednesday at Babourfields Stadium.
a?The playing kits that were bought for Bulawayo City cost us $5 000. We are a Bulawayo based company and we are keen to help the cityas premiership clubs. As a company we have a policy of giving back to Bulawayo as a city and we will continue to extend our helping hand to other Bulawayo-based clubs. As a country, there is a lot of need in our social structures and as such we will seek to assist,a? said Asphalt Products managing director Francis Mangwendeza.
City , who are under the tutelage of Philani a?Beefya? Ncube, are in their maiden dance in the topflight league and the clubas acting chief executive officer Mackenzie Moyo said they were humbled by Asphalt Productsa gesture.
a?We greatly appreciate what Asphalt Products has done for us. We are in the premiership and we are in a fix. We need a lot of things. We need resources and the playing kits that we got courtesy of Asphalt Products are most welcome. We have saved a lot of money and we will channel the little resources that we have elsewhere,a? said Moyo.
He challenged other stakeholders to consider emulating Asphalt Products.
a?Other stakeholders should also consider coming on board and support us and football at large. We have three junior boysa teams and one girls team that we also need to take care of. We need a lot of assistance,a? added Moyo.
Beefyas charges boast of the services of the Tshabalala raised trio of Mthulisi Maphosa, Mkhokheli Dube and Thomas Chimenya, captain Xolisani a?Scaraa?
