STANDING at a height of 172.5cm and weighing 93kg, 30-year- old Tatenda Rovah is now back in the gym preparing for the coming Mr ZITF on April 30.

Rovah started his career seven years ago when he competed in some competition in 2017.

This was the Mr Western and he finished second.

After the 2017 competition, Rovah took a brief break after relocating to Zvishavane for a while because of work and he could not get adequate training to maintain his fitness there.

Last year he returned to Bulawayo and started training for Mr Bulawayo in which he did not do well because he competed in the wrong category and finished fourth out of seven competitors.

“I have only competed two times in my career as a bodybuilder and I’m looking forward to upgrade that and take part in Mr ZITF. If I could also get a sponsor that could scale up my competition to international level representing my country and improve my levels of performance,” said Rovah.

Rovah is an enthusiastic athlete who is determined to succeed and advises other athletes to desist from doping, drug and substance abuse.

“Young athletes should avoid using banned athletic performance-enhancing drugs, as a way of cheating as this is a quick way to destroying your future and career. I have seen how our youth destroy their lives by using drugs and mixing with wrong people, I encourage them to join sporting activities as they are a way of keeping busy, away from the streets,” said Rovah.

“Bodybuilding in Bulawayo has little recognition and it is my wish to promote the sport and I have high hopes to be the first one to bring home the (IFBB) International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation certificate,” said Rovah.
