‘Assault incident still haunts me’

Rihanna has admitted that constantly being reminded of ex boyfriend Chris Brown’s brutal assault on her in 2009 has only prolonged the pain of the incident.

The star was attacked by her then boyfriend inside his Lamborghini the night before the 2009 Grammys, with photos of her bruised and swollen face subsequently leaked to the website TMZ.

In a candid new interview with Vanity Fair, the singer is asked how it feels to always be the ‘poster child for domestic violence,’ admitting that it’s like being ‘punished over and over’ when she’s reminded of the horrific incident.

Over five years after the assault, Rihanna angrily condemned the NFL and CBS when they chose not to play her hit Run This Town during an opening-week broadcast for the NFL season last year, with the broadcaster citing any connection which could be made between Chris Brown’ assault on her and the Ray Rice domestic abuse scandal. — Dailymail.
