BINDURA-based women’s football side Auckland Queens say they are not intimidated by the prospects of facing giants Black Rhinos in a Super League match tomorrow.
Rhinos are unbeaten in five games and will be at home at Two Brigade in what promises to be a bruising battle between the two teams.
Auckland, however, believe they have a good chance of doing well against the seasoned campaigners.
The Bindura side is currently second on the log standings after playing nine matches.
Their assistant coach Grundy Mhike said their girls were ready for the tie and will be going into the game with all guns blaz- ing.
“We know it will be a tough game as Black Rhinos are a really tricky side but my girls are really working hard in preparation for their game and I can say we are ready for them.
“Our main focus will be to reduce the gap between ourselves and the log leaders (Flame Lilly) so while we respect Black Rhinos, we will not be looking for anything less than a win.
“In terms of fitness, we have no injuries to write home about, morale is high in the camp and we have been working hard because the girls want a win.
“As a coach, of course, you will always feel that there is more room for improvement but so far I am impressed with how the girls have been playing,” said Mhike.
Auckland Queens are currently in second place with 19 points, two points behind log leaders Flame Lily who still have a game in hand.
Rhinos coach Weddington Chin’anga said the army outfit will be at their best.
