Legendary singer Dorothy Masuku recently endorsed PaRoots Restaurant where she was impressed by excellent service and sumptuous Zimbabwean traditional dishes.

PaRoots Restaurant located along Kaguvi Street has played host to a number of local and international celebrities including superstar Oliver Mtukudzi, Suluman Chimbetu and the EU delegation, to mention a few.

The eatery, which is ranked in the top three traditional restaurants that promote healthy eating, hosted Masuku or simply Auntie Dot to her fans, when she featured as a guest for the Star Brite talent search show finals.

“I am honoured to be here for the first time and I have enjoyed the tasty traditional food, the service was amazing. I will come back whenever I am here in Zimbabwe.

“This should be my home when I think of food because I do not go to restaurants. It reminds me of my youth days when we used to eat organic food. Please may God increase you and be blessed,” Auntie Dot said.

She also promised to be an ambassador for the restaurant when she tours around the world.

Later on, she was presented with gifts courtesy of Abigail Makono who is the director of PaRoots Restaurant.

Auntie Dot sampled some of the signature dishes at PaRoots Restaurant such as tsuro (rabbit), road-runner (chicken), beef bones and oxtail.

The starches include white sadza, rice in peanut butter, sadza remhunga, sadza rezviyo while on desserts they offer a wide variety of fruits in season. But for those who never tasted the traditional starters they need to try maheu.

The tasty non-alcoholic beverage is rich in minerals and fibre, good to feed the body that works.

The restaurant is open every day of the week and diners can choose where they want to have their lunch or dinner from a selection of private rooms that are made to suit discerning patrons.

One thing that you can look forward to is the authentic traditional way of dinning that is uniquely Zimbabwean.
