A Zimbabwean couple living in Australia are reaping the rewards after heeding President Mnangagwa’s call to invest back home.

Mr Simbarashe and Mrs Olivia Gushure, who have been in Australia for 19 years, decided to venture into the dairy business and they now have 149 cows that are producing more than 3000 litres of milk every day.

Recently, Mashonaland East Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Senator Apolonnia Munzverengwi visited their thriving Silver Blue Dairy farm in Goromonzi to have an appreciation of their project.

Minister Munzverengwi was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Land, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development as well as other Government officials from the province.

“I came to see for myself what the couple is doing here and I am impressed,” she said.

“I brought with me several experts in the dairy business so that we can see how best we can support this couple.

“We should give them all the support they need. We want others in the diaspora to understand that investing back home is profitable and is the right thing to do.”

Mr Gushure said they were motivated by President Mnangagwa’s call for Zimbabweans living in the Diaspora to invest back home as well as his mantra, ‘Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo,’
