The Australia Zimbabwe Business Council (AZBC) is today hosting the Zimbabwe Investment Forum in Perth, Australia.

AZBC is a non-governmental and non-political national business chamber established to facilitate the business linkages between Zimbabwe and the Australia by engaging with governments, businesses, investors, civil societies and expatriate communities in both countries.

The organisation hosts events across Australia and organises business missions between the two countries.

“We are excited to host the first Zimbabwe Investment Forum showcasing various investment opportunities that the Zimbabwean economy presents to Australian investors.

“The forum will include Zimbabwe Minister of Mines Winston Chitando, Batirai Manhando, the president of the Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe and Isaac Kwesu CEO of the Zimbabwe Chamber of Mines.

“In the post-election environment, we expect stronger focus on attracting investors by the Zimbabwe companies with much more intentional support from the Zimbabwean government,” said Samuel Sebenzo, Chairman of the AZBC.

“We are supportive of the reform agenda that the current administration is proposing, in particular the intent to ensure political stability, re-join the international community and promote market economy that is investor friendly,” he added.

“An essential step for opening up opportunities for trade and investment is an intentional and strategic international community engagement. To that end, we are inviting interested businesses and investors to participate in the Zimbabwe Investment Forum in person in Perth or online through Facebook Live Streaming. The Forum will be part of our continued effort to showcase business opportunities while facilitating mutually beneficial connections and cooperation.”

“The AZBC will continue to engage with Australian government, Zimbabwe government and business communities in both countries to facilitate mutual cooperation and flow of timely and reliable information ahead of a detailed policy and implementation plan from the Zimbabwean government”
