AVONLEA Primary will host their inaugural girls’ soccer tournament this weekend with several top schools expected to take part.
The event will be sponsored by Ideal Sports management who are into the business of selling sports ware.
Several primary schools are organised into groups of six teams each and four groups will battle it out in round-robin format before they proceed to the finals.
Tournament coordinator Tinaye Katsambe said they were happy to support the girl child.
“Ideal Sports Management director Ideal Svovanepasi said the idea came after the gala lost its sponsor and they decided to take up the responsibility of giving back to the community.

Group A: Umvukwesi, Queensdale, Amai Mugabe, Southerton, Borrowdale, Amandas, Moffat.
Group B: Avonlea, Lois Mount Batten, Alfraid Beit, Greystone Park, Tynwald, Hallingbury, Darwendale.
Group C: Maranatha, Widdecombe, Lonchivar, David Livingstone, Belvedere, Marlborough, Nittleton.
Group D: Ardbenie, Providence Select, North Park, Alex Park, Highlands, Houghton Park, Hatfield.
