FOUR Cowdray Park residents were left nursing injuries after three armed robbers stormed their yard at night, threatened them with axes and an electric shocker and escaped with a Samsung S21 cellphone worth US$200.
The robbers allegedly struck at around 11.30pm on October 24, finding three women aged 34, 36 and 37, and a 38-year-old man seated in a cooking shed at their home.
According to police, the trio gained entry through an unlocked gate while armed with axes and an electric shocker.
They allegedly ordered the four residents to lie down before demanding cash and searching them for valuables.
The situation turned violent when the suspects allegedly assaulted the victims with an axe, leaving two of them with cuts to the left side of the head and forehead.
After the attack, the robbers reportedly fled through the gate and disappeared into the darkness with the cellphone.
Nothing has been recovered, and a police report was made.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele appealed to anyone with information that could lead to the suspects’ arrest to report to their nearest police station.
“Anyone with information that may assist in identifying and arresting the suspects should report to their nearest police station,” said Inspector Msebele.
