A WORKING group of the Azerbaijan-Zimbabwe Inter-Parliamentary Relations delegation led by Mr Zaur Shukurov, who is also the Chairperson of the Committee of International Relations, on Thursday met Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Mudenda and called for strengthening of ties between the two countries.
Mr Shukurov, described the meeting with Adv Mudenda as productive.
“We had a very productive discussion on the various issues of mutual interests.
“So, I can say that it’s the first step, not just to cooperate, to enhance our relationship, not just in the field of the inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as other fields of, as I mentioned, of mutual interest.
“I hope after our visit we can witness the cooperation between our countries, be it in the industry, agriculture, or other various fields of interest and I think the businesses of both countries should be very active to find the common way of interest or to develop cooperation, be it the investment or the establishment of the joint venture,” Mr Shukurov said.
He added that as parliaments it was also their role to enhance the relations between the two countries.
“As parliamentarians, we will do all our best to support this relationship, this cooperation. We are very happy being here in the friendly Zimbabwe.
“We are very grateful, deeply grateful to the leadership of the Parliament of the Zimbabwe for an official visit to the Zimbabwe,” he said.
