THE Bulawayo Athletics Board (Bab) has congratulated long distance runner Isaac Mpofu who was named the 2023 National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (Naaz) athlete of the Year Award at a ceremony held in Harare at the weekend.
The honour comes after he also won the Bab athlete of the year.
Bab chairperson Watson Madanyika said: ” We are proud as a province to have produced the best athlete in the land. Hopefully to this will be motivation for other athletes in the province.”
The Naaz awards returned after being shelved for more than 20 years.
Mpofu participated at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary last August and finished on position 15 in 2hours 11minutes 33seconds.
