. . . Musician says he was living in HELL

BABA Harare, the musician who now calls himself King David, says he used to live in hell but has now found the path to heaven.
He told H-Metro yesterday that he regrets spending a part of his life staggering in a desert of sin which was disguised as paradise.
He is now born again and has ditched his past when he used to sing songs, whose lyrics were considered by some to be dirty.
He has also shifted his music from jiti to gospel.
The songs, which he now considers dirty, turned him into one of the most popular artists on the local scene.
He has since changed his stage name from Baba Harare to King David.
He spoke to H-Metro at an event at the Eat n Lick food outlet in Machipisa, Highfield.
“I regret singing dirty words when I had not yet received the light from our Lord and Saviour.
“It was a time of darkness for me and the messages were good.”
Despite his confession, guests urged him to continue being sanctified saying he is yet to be fully transformed.
Some guests agreed with him that many of his old songs were dirty.
“At least, he has seen the light and we commend him and we commend his wife for helping him give his life to God.
“Music has power and it takes a generation to erase the messages instilled in people through songs,” said one of the guests.
