SOCIAL media personality and gospel artiste, Denzel Tadiwa Maveve, has announced that he is taking his ongoing dispute with musician Braveman “Baba Harare” Chizvino beyond social media.
Instead, Maveve says he intends to pursue legal action after claiming the online exchanges had escalated to involve his family.
The fallout began after Baba Harare claimed that Maveve was being manipulated by his girlfriend, Melo, and her mother in their relationship. The jiti singer also alleged that women often leave their partners after benefiting from them financially or materially.
The sentiments did not sit well with Maveve, who has been exchanging heated words with Baba Harare over the past few weeks.
Maveve revealed that he had decided to stop engaging in public exchanges and would instead allow the matter to be handled through legal channels.
“After taking time to reflect on everything that has happened between me and Baba Harare, I’ve decided that I will no longer respond through social media,” he said.
He added that what had begun as online exchanges had crossed a line when his family became involved. “What started as online exchanges has now crossed a line by involving my family, and I believe that is unacceptable.”
Maveve said he had already begun seeking legal advice and intended to report the matter to the relevant authorities.
“I have, therefore, decided to pursue the matter through the proper legal channels by reporting it to the relevant authorities and seeking legal advice regarding cyber bullying and any other applicable issues,” he said.
According to Mavevel, the move is not motivated by revenge but by a desire to protect his loved ones.
“This isn’t about revenge or creating more drama. It’s about setting boundaries and protecting the people I love. From this point forward, I’ll allow the appropriate processes to take their course,” he added.
Despite announcing his intention to seek legal recourse, Maveve also referred to Baba Harare’s recently released album, encouraging fans to support it. The remarks quickly attracted reactions from followers, with many expressing mixed views over the decision to involve lawyers. Some applauded Maveve for choosing to resolve the dispute through formal channels instead of continuing the public exchanges, arguing that online feuds can easily spiral out of control when family members become targets. Others urged both personalities to put their differences aside and settle the matter away from the public eye, saying the ongoing drama had overshadowed their contributions to the entertainment industry. The dispute between Maveve and Baba Harare has generated significant attention in recent weeks, with every new development fuelling debate across social media. Fans have closely followed the exchanges, making the feud one of Zimbabwe’s most talked-about entertainment topics.
