RETIRED gospel legend, Baba Machanic Manyeruke, is set to perform at a church conference in Mabvuku this Friday.
Dubbed “The Giant Killer”, the conference will be hosted by House of Life Ministries at an open space near Kamunhu Shopping Centre.
Conference organiser, Minister Preston Maporisa, told H-Metro the conference was aimed at fighting vice, as well as drug and substance abuse, in Mabvuku.
“Mabvuku will never be the same again after this conference,” said Maporisa.
“Kamunhu Shopping Centre will be renamed Zimunhu after dealing with all ills affecting our community.
“Gospel giants like Baba Manyeruke, and other artists, will grace the conference.
“We hope and believe that the combination will leave Mabvuku a Christian community,” said Maporisa.
Other artists expected to perform alongside Baba Manyeruke include Sabastian Magacha, Dorcas Moyo and Zimdancehall chanter Killer T.
However, all the attention will be on Baba Manyeruke, who announced his retirement from mainstream music.
He pledged to continue mentoring young artists as well as performing at exclusive events.
