Back to School: Third term resolutions

Tawanda Matanhire : Cool Lifestyle Reporter

The holiday is over, schools are opening again this coming week. For many school going children it has been fun all the way, but for some it has been a busy holiday as they continued to prepare for their final exams. Some feel they have done enough while others need to put extra effort to make it for the final exams.Form 4s and Upper 6s are the main subject of the matter in this case while not forgetting other High School pupils who also need to pull up their socks if they really want to achieve their academic goals this coming school term

The question is,do you really want to pass with high grades?

For many students its a definite ‘‘yes’’.

In that case you need to get in grip in those areas where you might feel there is need for more effort so that you come out tops at the end of the term .

This is really the term to be more serious.

Some pupils have made resolutions for the term looking at those areas, which they felt there was need to improve.

Cool Lifestyle had interviews with several pupils.

“My resolution for the third term are to work hard in my school work and to spend most of my time on things which are beneficial and to those that are in lower six and form three, this is the time to start preparing for your final exams so that next year you wont have so much pressure,” said Shamiso Diza

“My resolution is just to improve on my Maths and English. I know that I am better in other subjects, but I have been struggling of late with the two subjects,”Nata Nhema.

“I want to embark on an awareness programme on the dangers of drug abuse and also work hard on a few subjects that I have been bad at,” said Beloved Malinganisa.

“I wish if I could go back to form three and start preparing for the third term but because I can’t do that, I will have to make sure I pass my exams so its more study time and no play at all,” said Sydney Makumbe.

“No more unproductive friends,we played enough so I am going to leave those friends who were not being useful and just be with the resourceful ones, otherwise no more friends,” Tendai Muchina said.

While it is a good exercise to make resolutions, for many it is hard to follow them through but if you are a serious student, make up your mind to do what you are supposed to do so that you will not regret in the near future.

Being in school is a wonderful opportunity for any individual and using this time wisely will pay off in the end.

There are many kids who do not go to school not because they chose to be uneducated, but so many challenges surround them and if you are going to be attending class just reflect on that notion so that it encourages you to put extra effort.

Parents will always be proud of a hard working child especially when it comes to academics.

If you made them proud there is always a reward and in the end it will make everyone happy.

As a child its good that you do your part and not concentrate on the things that are not important. Rather make the best by creating your future now.

You will not regret being busy with your school work, whatever area you know you are good in, be the best at it by working to improve from your last mark.

Never relax saying I am always the best because there is someone who is working very hard to surpass their past.

When it is time to study just be in the right place, you will not regret.
